Privacy Policy — Exam Setu
Exam Setu is developed by Lakvanta Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Exam Setu and how it is used.
1. Overview
Exam Setu is a mock test and exam preparation app. To save your progress, attempts, and purchases across devices, Exam Setu requires an account.
2. Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Exam Setu, we collect:
- Account details: name, email address and/or phone number, and a securely hashed password
- The exams you follow, and your saved exams
- Test attempts: answers selected, time taken per question, scores, rank and percentile
- Purchase records for paid test series (amount, date, and a payment reference — never your card or UPI details)
- Device push-notification tokens, so we can remind you about live tests and your daily streak
- Basic app usage and crash diagnostics, to fix bugs and improve stability
3. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to run your account, show your test history and results, calculate rank and percentile on the leaderboard, unlock test series you've purchased, and send you relevant notifications (like live test reminders). We do not sell your personal data.
4. Payments
Paid test series are purchased through Razorpay. Razorpay processes your payment details directly — Exam Setu and Lakvanta Technologies never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details. We only store the purchase amount and a payment reference to confirm what you've unlocked.
5. Leaderboard & Public Data
When you submit a test, your score may appear on that test's leaderboard with a partially masked name (e.g. first name and last initial only) — never your email, phone number, or full name.
6. Notifications
With your permission, Exam Setu sends local and push notifications for daily streak reminders and upcoming live tests. You can disable these anytime from Settings → Notification Settings, or from your device's system settings.
7. Data Security
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (never in plain text). Sensitive traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account and associated data anytime from Settings → Delete Account inside the app, or by following the instructions on our Delete Account & Data page. We retain data only as long as your account is active, or as required by law for financial/purchase records.
9. Third-Party Services
Exam Setu uses Firebase (push notifications, crash reporting, analytics) and Razorpay (payments) to operate the app. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service to us.
10. Children's Privacy
Exam Setu is intended for exam aspirants and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
