Privacy Policy — ResumeBuilder
ResumeBuilder is developed by Lakvanta Technologies. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This Privacy Policy explains how ResumeBuilder handles information.
1. Overview
ResumeBuilder is a resume maker designed to work directly on your device, available for iPhone/iPad and for Android. You do not need an account to use it. We do not collect, store, sell, or share the resumes you create.
The Android version is free and supported by ads shown by Google AdMob, and it uses Google Firebase for anonymous analytics, configuration and push notifications. These services are described in sections 7 and 8, and your choices in section 9.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Account credentials — the app has no sign-up or login
- The resume content you enter (name, contact, experience, education, skills), except the text you choose to send to our AI provider as described in section 5
- The profile photo you add or the files you export
- Your name, email address, phone number or precise location
The third-party services in sections 7 and 8 may automatically collect device-level information such as an advertising identifier, IP address and app interaction events. This is separate from your resume content.
3. Your Resumes & Files
The resumes you build, the profile photo you add, and the files you export (PDF, PNG, JPEG) are stored locally on your device. Lakvanta Technologies has no access to them.
4. Photo Library Access
If you add a profile photo, ResumeBuilder accesses only the single image you explicitly select. It does not scan or read your full photo library.
5. Importing a PDF & AI Suggestions
To auto-fill a resume from an existing PDF, the text of that PDF is read on your device (including on-device text recognition for scanned pages) and the extracted text is sent securely to our AI provider (Google's Gemini API) to return the parsed fields. When you open AI Suggestions, the text of your resume sections (such as your summary, job titles, work experience descriptions and skills) is sent to the same provider to return suggested wording. Your name and contact details are not included. This text is used only to fulfil your request and is not used to identify you. If you never use PDF import or AI Suggestions, no resume content leaves your device.
6. Subscriptions & Purchases
On iPhone/iPad, ResumeBuilder Premium is offered through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All billing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Purchase validation uses Apple's StoreKit and does not identify you to us personally. The Android version currently has no in-app purchases.
7. Analytics, Notifications & Diagnostics
iPhone/iPad: ResumeBuilder may use Apple-provided system diagnostics such as crash reports to improve stability and performance. These diagnostics are anonymous and do not include your resume content.
Android: the app uses Google Firebase for:
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage events such as app opens, screens viewed, templates chosen and exports (their type and format, never their content), and crash/diagnostic information. Firebase identifies an app installation with a random app-instance ID, not with your name or email.
- Firebase Remote Config — downloads app settings (for example how often ads are shown).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications. This uses a device token. The app also schedules local reminder notifications on your device.
None of these include your resume content. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device's system settings.
8. Advertising (Android)
The Android version shows ads using Google AdMob: banner ads on the main screens, an occasional full-screen ad after you export a document, and a short rewarded video before you create a new resume or cover letter. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. Your resume content is never shared with advertisers or ad networks.
Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form before requesting ads, and you can change your choice later where the form is offered. 9. Third-Party Services & Your Choices
ResumeBuilder relies on the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini API — only for the optional AI features in section 5
- Google AdMob — ads in the Android version (section 8)
- Google Firebase — analytics, remote configuration and push notifications in the Android version (section 7)
- Google ML Kit text recognition — runs on your device to read scanned PDF pages
- Apple system frameworks on iPhone/iPad, such as PDFKit, Vision, PhotosUI and StoreKit. The iPhone/iPad version does not use advertising networks.
Your choices on Android:
- Open Settings → Google → Ads (the path can vary by device) to reset or delete your advertising ID and to opt out of ads personalization.
- Turn off notifications in Settings → Apps → ResumeBuilder → Notifications.
- Do not use PDF import or AI Suggestions if you do not want any resume text sent to our AI provider.
- Uninstalling the app removes the resumes stored on your device.
10. Children's Privacy
ResumeBuilder is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Data Security
ResumeBuilder stores your resumes on your device and does not keep them on our servers. Data sent to Google services (AI requests, analytics and ads) is transmitted over encrypted connections.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
